WHO AM I?
I am Aleks, a quirky creative arts professional, specialising in both working as a multi-disciplinary artist as well as training in the facilitation of community-based arts workshops for wellbeing.

My favourite materials to work with are paints, pencils, and markers but I am currently expanding my techniques to cover clay and textiles.

Originally from Poland, I moved to Wales in 2005 with my parents to start a fun new (better) life. As of right now, (February 2022) I am working towards my graduation show taking place in Pontypridd, Wales, and I am finishing my third year of placement with a lovely Dementia ward.

Typically, my artworks explore the beautiful balance of bold colours mixed with chaotic linework. From fluffy monstrous creatures to elegant and charming birds, I am not afraid to use a variety of mediums to express their characters and personalities.

My inspirations are vast and diverse but mainly come from things I have seen and experienced. Birds are often my favourite thing to latch on to when creating artwork because of their amazing plumage, diversified shapes and magnificent hues. Along with them, I am inspired by stained glass, the natural world, fantasy themes, and cartoons as I am very influenced by my nostalgia for the past.

I am fascinated at the idea my own and other people's ideas to life, but I am also excited at the prospect of experiencing the sensory side of art and using it to relax, or using it to stimulate the senses. Art should be for everyone, because what is art if it can't be used to express crazy ideas and understand yourself?
